Fuego
It is during a weekend in Kuala Lumpur in October 2017 that I have discover Fuego, a restaurant and bar located on a rooftop with the most incredible view on the Petronas Tours.
Its name came from the spanish world for fire because it is dedicated in the South-American cuisines. Most of the dishes are served in a theatrical way. Smoke and fire are inner part of the presentations.
It is important to precise that Fuego employs chef specialized in guacamole, which is one off the big part of the menu, from the shrimps guacamole to the pepper or caviar one there are choices for everyone.
I recommend you to order many dishes and to share it to be able to discover as many flavors as you can!
For beef lover, Fuego propose a large choices; lamb or beef rib, Wagyu Sirloin,…
Fruity, tasty and spicy, desserts and cocktails will not leave you emotionless!
Where the masterpiece is successful is that in addition to a bewitching menu, Fuego offers a musical, warm and festive atmosphere that make you want to stay for hours.
This restaurant surely is my staple one in the Malaysian capital. Thus, I do not recommend you but order you to go there if you are in town! Do not forget to book a table as victim of its success, the rooftop is often full.
Nobü
With more than 30 restaurants worldwide, Nobü offers a culinary experience combining Japanese and South American cuisines.
Located on the 56th floor of Menara Petronas 3, the windows offer you a dramatic 360 degree views of the KL city skyline.
The warm and wooded interior remains very sober and plunges its customers in a stylish and elegant environment.
The service is impeccable and facing a very elaborate menu, the staff will advise you about the alliance of flavors and the choices they think are best for you. Then, the kitchen team will cook you light, delicate and tasty dishes.
What can you expect ? The global empire’s signature Latin-tinged dishes such as carefully carved thick slices of black cod with sweet, salty miso, Nobu’s baby corn taco shells with sashimi, soy-lacquered yellowtail with jalapeño and meaty rock shrimp tempura with creamy spicy sauce.
Other standout dishes on the menu include the velvety toro tartar a savoury fatty chunk of tuna belly, topped with caviar, served with shoyu mixed with wasabi sauce. Meanwhile, the Chilean sea bass marinated with red jalapeño miso , at once smoky, salty and sweet in flavour, will certainly be the surefire winner of the night’s meal.
