I stayed at the YMCA for three days during the Christmas season. Situated in the heart of Jerusalem, it probably has one of the best location in town. It is in front of the famous King David Hotel and it is just a few minutes walking distance from the old city.
YMCA Three Arches Hotel is a unique and historical building that has been designed by the word famous architect of the empire building and was completed in 1933. There are beautiful areas with gardens, lawns and stone pathway all around.
As a guest, you have a free access to the YMCA sport center. It is a huge complex with two floors dedicated to the fitness with the latest in sport technology and a half Olympic pool. You can also participate to one of the 50 group classes such as Yoga, Pilate, Zumba, etc.
All rooms have a television, a radio and a huge bathroom. Actually, I think that there is nothing special to say about the rooms, they are clean and pretty basic in design.
My general opinion : If you are planning to come to Jerusalem you should really come to YMCA Three Arches hotel. People working here are friendly and helpful, they will guide you and tell you about what Jerusalem can offer you. I also recommend to take the room + breakfast, it is composed to a large choice of specialities as well as western food (pastries, eggs, ham…)
