Where to stay - Singapore

The Westin

Stately, luxurious and stunning. Here are the three first words that come to my mind when I think of the Westin in Singapore!

From the airport, it took around 20 minutes by car to get to the hotel or 1 hour by MRT. It is well located in the heart of Singapore’s financial district, a 2-minute walk to the Downtown station (downtown line MRT) and a 15-minute walk to the tourist hotspots such as the Marina Bay Sands or Gardens by the Bay. Therefore, this business hotel is also perfect for tourist purposes.

The lobby is on the 32nd storey and there are valets on the ground floor to help you with your luggage and direct you. I have to say, that this lobby is one of the highlights of the Hotel, from that floor the view is breath-taking, floor-to-ceiling windows provided 180-degree views over Singapore harbour and Singapore Straits! The service is impeccable, discreet yet friendly. During your check-in, you will be given your keys and you will be guided to your room on floors between 33 to 46. Mine, was a Westin Club King Guest room on level 45.

The door opened up directly in the bedroom, which was spacious and well-designed, decorated with shades of brown. I fell in love with the floor-to-ceiling window (again! I guess that this is my thing…) with this time a not even possibly real view of Singapore’s skyscrapers, this is honestly the most incredible panorama I have ever had in a city hotel!

The furniture and artwork around the room were fancy and above what you usually find in a business hotel. The massive king size Heavenly bed is composed of 10 layers and is as comfortable as a cloud! (well… I never slept on a cloud, but I am sure it is exceptionally comfortable 😉). In the bedroom you are able to take some rest by seating on the ergonomic chair while watching your favourite programs on the 42-inch HDTV or listening to some great music from the iPod docking station.

Now, it is time to talk about my very favourite part of a room… THE BATHROOM! And I have to say that this one is quite impressive with again again a floor-to-ceiling window and its view that we don’t need to talk about anymore as I think that you have understood my feeling about it!
Whether you prefer a bath or a shower, you will be more than happy as this marble bathroom comes with an invigorating rainforest shower and a huge Italian bathtub.

Besides beautiful rooms, the Westin offers a range of divine facilities such as the Heavenly Spa and the westinWORKOUT Fitness Studio, both on level 35. Because they know that you can’t always take your sneakers in your luggage, for only 6SGD they will deliver a pair of New Balance to your room!
On the same storey, I am sure that you will also enjoy swimming in the blue water of the outdoor infinity pool before heading over to the large deck and settle into an upholstered chaise lounge or one of the submerged sun beds.

Just wake up and hungry? Let’s go to level 32 to appreciate an excellent breakfast at Seasonal Taste, The Westin Singapore’s signature all-day dining venue. The restaurant offers a large choice of eastern and western cuisine: noodles, rice, eggs, pastries, fruits… You will inevitably find your happiness and start your day in the best possible way!

I think you have understood why I used the three words Stately, luxurious and stunning to describe the Westin Hotel and I can only recommend you to book a room in this mervellous hotel for your next trip to Singapore!
