Who does not like champagne or hot dogs ?
This is surely what have wondered Sandia Chang and her husband James Knappet before deciding to create Bubbledogs in 2012.
Ok so maybe you never thought of eating them together but trust me this is really worth a try ! The combination is surprisingly delicious !
The restaurant is located in Charlotte St in Fotzrovia, an inner neighborhood of London.
On arrival, I was warmly welcomed by a smiling waitress at the door and placed at a tiny tiny tiny table looking like bar and facing the stairs. I did not booked, so please do not forget to call before coming to be sure to have access to the bigger tables. The room is really small, I think it is a 20 to 30 max person capacity. This is not bad as it makes the restaurant even more hearty and convivial.

Talking about the hot-dogs, the buns are hand-rolled and freshly baked every day, the sausages are handcrafts following a secret recipe and the toppings also are handmade using, according to them, the freshest ingredients. When ordering you can choose between pork, beef or vegetarian sausage. There is a lot of choice, from the basic one to the chili or mac’n’cheese one.
They offer a large selection of champagne, Rosé or Brut, that you can order at the glass or the bottle. Do not worry if you don’t feel like drinking bubbles they also propose cocktails, wine, beers and non alcoholic drinks.

My general opinion : Because of my French roots I was first taken aback about the combination of the champagne and the hot-dogs. What I can say is that I was pleasantly surprised. I took the chili hotdog and my boyfriend the mac’n’cheese one that we accompanied with sweet potato fries the “horny devils” (that are basically spicy potatoes). We decided to take both Rosé and Brut champagne. Everything was super tasty, we honestly loved it and recommend it ! We just now can’t wait to come back !!
